Montrose Basin 2014

5 NWA members had a foray to the Montrose Basin in October 2014. An estimated count of 40,000 pinks were in the area. A gale force wind on Monday morning provided the best sport with all guns securing geese. A modest hard earned bag was achieved over the week. One of the highlights was observing an Osprey on passage. All enjoyed the week and look forward to returning next season.  ...

Cliff, Ron & Colin had a late season trip to Caerlaverock on the Scottish side of the Solway Firth. There was no shortage of Geese, but due to the height they crossed the marsh, no birds were secured. A good holiday was had by all, and a few drams were enjoyed across the week.            ...

Xmas Turkey Shoot 2013

The Turkey shoot went ahead as planned on Sunday 22nd Dec. It was well attended with 25 Guns. Weather was very cold, windy with passing showers, well done to all those hardy enough to stick with it to the end! The shoot was won by Junior member, Chris Smith, with 23 out of 30. Well done Chris, good score with that wind making some interesting targets....
