I was talking to a local game keeper at the end of the breeding season and he said “the grey partridge had bred very well this year.”
Despite this, I was still surprised to see a covey of 8 grey partridge on my lawn. I have had a variety of birds and animals in my garden over the years, but this is the first for greys – how delighted I was.
