Northumberland County Show

Newcastle Wildfowlers, along with BASC northern attended the Northumberland County Show on Monday 26th May 2013 at Bywell. Over 25,000 people enjoyed a great day out. The NWA/BASC marquee was extremely busy throughout the day, with visitors viewing the many displays including firearms, wildfowling, taxidermy and dog handling. DV Sporting – Borders Trip

John Rouse, Paul Reid, Cliff Landreth and 3 other Wildfowlers were guests of D.V. Sporting. www.dvsporting.co.uk   They had 3 morning flights at geese in the Borders. The weather was clear and frost, not the ideal conditions for goose shooting however a reasonable bag was achieved. Cameron’s Shoot 2012

13 guns attended Felkington farm on Monday 30th January 2012 for an end of season pheasant shoot. A moderate bag was achieved. The traditional lunch time scotch pie with a large dram was enjoyed by all. See the gallery for more photos.    ...

Wildfowling Trip to Montrose Basin, January 2012

Rob Hewitson and myself had our seasonal visit to the Basin. Weather conditions were mostly against us with wind out of the West. Also a full moon at end of week which gave the geese the opportunity to flight on and off Basin any time during night. We both managed to bag a handful of geese and enjoyed our visit and will be returning next season. Highlights of the week were: watching a Mink working the tide line at dawn (unfortunately I did not have my camera with me). Also one morning we had a good view of 25 white front geese at river mouth. Richard the warden said they do not get many White fronts on Basin and 25 was a good number.      ...
